This is a very personal and special composition. I (Christian) wasn’t even sure that it would have been suitable for NOVA’s repertoire. We tried to arrange it for the whole band but nothing worked better than the solo version, so we decided to keep it that way. I wrote the song during my second stay in New York City after listening to a lot of my favourite Aaron Parks and Keith Jarrett’s music. This composition is a melancholic piece about nostalgia, loneliness and the feelings we have when we’re missing something or someone. In my case, although the New York experiences were very important for my life and career (and I’ll go back regularly for sure, when it will be possible again), every time I was there, I felt alone and missed my family, my girlfriend, my friends and my life in Europe. Learning to be alone was one of the most important things I learned from these experiences in another continent. Hard but necessary to grow as a person.
