about

The second and third tracks of the new album are inspired by a very interesting science fiction story written by Daniel Keyes in 1958. The main character, with a very low IQ at the beginning of the story, is the first human being who has undergone surgery to increase his intelligence. Due to the success of the operation he starts seeing the world very differently than before. He used to be a happy man that could enjoy the simplest things in life, but after the surgery nothing was the same anymore. As he got more and more intelligent, he started to understand how the world really is and how other people behave. The relation between intelligence and happiness always fascinated me and this story gave me another chance to reflect on ethical and moral themes, such as the treatment of the mentally disabled people and the subjective perception of the world anyone has. The first part of the composition describes the sate of the main character before the surgery.
