That’s the sixth composition of our upcoming album, which will be released in February 2021. This piece is again inspired by an interesting story of Isaac Asimov, originally entitled “The feeling of power”. In a distant future, humans live in a computer-aided society and have forgotten the fundamentals of mathematics, including even the rudimentary skill of counting, except one man: the main character of the story. This sci-fi tragedy made me think about the relationship between the mankind and technology. If we think about how many things we are no longer able to do without having a computer, it seems that Isaac Asimov’s vision will become a reality, sooner or later.
I’d like to thank my friend Elia Heutschi for giving me (Christian), as a birthday present, a book with a fantastic collection of Science-Fiction stories. I remember that the first thing he told me was to read “The feeling of power” and to write a song about it. Well, here it is! Thank you very much for the inspiration.
